Biografi / Biography:
Linnea Landström (1996) is a Swedish composer, choral conductor and vocalist. She is based in Stockholm but was born in Luleå, north of Sweden. As a composer she has got commissions for theatre music, chamber / choral music and orchestral music. Her art could be decribed as neoclassicism meeting the contemporary art world - with influences from Swedish folkmusic and jazz. She is exploring the later two genres in the project Den blomstertid nu somnar where she is also performing as a vocalist. Her love for the human voice is close to her art in many ways, and at the moment the is studying choral conducting at the Royal College of Music, Stockholm. She is soprano in Olaus Petri Vocalis based in Örebro, led by Mats Bertilsson. The choir has great merits with yearly Bach cantatas-collaborations with Drottningsholms barouque ensemble and two albums - Cry Out and Great Angelican Music. In early 2024 she founded the upper voice choir Tusen Tungor, focusing on folk music, early western classical music and new contemporary music. So far the choir has premiered pieces by Brenda El Rayes and Óskar Freyr Guðnason. At the moment, the choir is working on collaborations with Marta Forsberg, Adele Marcia Kosman and Klara Källström. She is also chair and head producer of the Swedish delegation of Ung Nordisk Musik - a Nordic/Baltic network presenting new music by young composers during a yearly festival. In August 2024 she was chief producer of the festival held in Örebro.
